Page Flop Solution

 

Many people have asked when we’ll have a new solution to the FLIP-STOP that will prevent the pages from flopping down. We have a new design ready to manufacture for the flip-stop, but we’re waiting on the funds to make a mold etc…So for everyone that already has a FlipBooKit at home, here’s a quick fix for your current flip-stop (Mark did a quick sketch). This should keep the cards from falling down.

 

1. Use a small piece of adhesive-backed foam (the kind used for insulating windows and doors).
2. Apply it to the the backplane of the flipper (facing the inside of the box),
so bottom of the foam is halfway down (even a tad more than halfway is ok).
3. The foam should act like a ratchet and hold back the front-most page from falling back.

Steampunks shipping soon!

Steampunks shipping!

 

Finally, after all the delays, all the supply-line mishaps, the esteemed but slightly tardy Dr. Steampunk has gathered all his accoutrements and is prepared for his outing to the post office.

Here’s the first one built with the raw brass from a test etch. In the final version, we’ve refined the line quality of the filigree and added a black accent in the etch. We also re-engineered the Steampunk flip-stop with a “page hold” feature that we hope to incorporate into all future FlipBooKits. Steampunk production took a lot of steam, but we are wrapping it up this week with a fulfillment push.

One of the most critical parts of the Dr. Steampunk production were the brass etched plates, fabricated at Micro-Etch in Gardena, CA.

New Flip-Cards

We’ve created three new pre-printed  animations for the flip-cards. You now have the ability to purchase them separately to add to your existing flip-card collection, or choose a specific animation when ordering a FlipBooKit.
